Owenhouse Ace Hardware, Bozeman, MT is on Facebook! In a recent promotion, Owenhouse asked their customers to “like” them on Facebook and so, would be automatically entered into a draw to win a $100 BBQ gift basket of goods and gift cards.
An email was sent out to Owenhouse’s email subscribers that linked to the Owenhouse Facebook page. Once on that page, customers then had to “like” the page in order to be entered into the drawing. This promotion caused website traffic to increase to the Owenhouse Ace Hardware website by 25% on the day that the email was released to their customers – and is an excellent example of cross-marketing their website.
From our website and email tracking system, we can see that:
- this email was sent to over 5,000 customers
- and, opened by 777 customers (15%)
- their Facebook page was clicked into 62 times
- and, an average of 1 minute, 45 seconds was spent on the page.
Eric Bowman from Owenhouse said:
- that before their promotion, the store had 32 likes,
- and at time of writing, this number had increased to 126 likes.
Eric also said “we noticed with our bike shop page, that once we broke about 100, then we started to get likes more regularly from Facebook suggesting it on the side as a page your friends like, so I suspect that this will give the Hardware store page a little momentum.“ Eric also stated that they will be using their Facebook page for some advertising and give-aways, but mainly just using the page to engage their customers and have fun with it.
